Baku Engineering University, ACCA discuss future cooperation directions

The Baku Engineering University (BEU) hosted a meeting with representatives of ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants).
The meeting focused on discussions regarding future areas of cooperation between the university and ACCA, as well as issues related to international certification opportunities for students.
Rector of BEU Yagub Piriyev stated that one of the university’s main priorities is to align the quality of education with international standards and to train students as competitive professionals. Emphasizing that the expansion of international cooperation is an important component of the university’s strategic development path, the rector highlighted the significance of cooperation with a reputable international organization such as ACCA. Adding that this cooperation opens up new career opportunities for students of the Faculty of Economics and Management at BEU, Yagub Piriyev noted that students gain the opportunity to obtain internationally recognized certificates in the fields of finance and accounting and to develop their knowledge and skills in line with global standards.
The rector also pointed out that many reputable international and local companies give preference, in recruitment for relevant positions, to candidates who have obtained ACCA certificates by passing examinations in related subjects, and drew attention to existing opportunities to make cooperation with the association more intensive and systematic.
ACCA’s representatives for Azerbaijan and Georgia, Senem Ross-Forrester, and Head of Eurasia and Middle East Relations (Education), Tariro Masukumen, provided information about the organization. It was noted that the Association, a prestigious international professional accounting body operating in more than 180 countries, has over 258,000 members and more than 500,000 registered students. The guests also spoke about the concessions provided by ACCA for BEU students. Organization representatives further expressed their satisfaction with the cooperation with BEU and noted the high level of the students.
The meeting also featured an exchange of views on issues related to the implementation of ACCA programs at BEU, as well as the organization of joint seminars and trainings and professional development programs for academic staff. At the same time, the further expansion of cooperation with the Faculty of Economics and Management in the last academic year, and as a result, the concessions applied by ACCA for students, the organization of special trainings in relevant subjects, etc., were discussed.
