Baku State University student wins “Azad Mirzajanzade Development Program”

Nijat Hasanov, a senior at Baku State University’s Faculty of Ecology and Soil Science, has become a winner of the “Azad Mirzajanzade Development Program” with his "EcoBin" project, an innovation aimed at transforming agricultural waste management.
More than 60 participants reached the final stage, with 10 projects selected for financial backing following a final evaluation.
The project is an innovative agricultural 0system that uses solar energy and microorganisms to rapidly convert organic waste into compost. It integrates Artificial Intelligence (AI) and IoT sensors to manage soil and water resources. The purpose of the project is to slash fertilizer inputs, rationalize water consumption, and drive higher productivity across the farming sector.
Launched in September 2023, the “Azad Mirzajanzade Development Program” supports social, environmental, educational, and innovative projects, providing winners with expert evaluation and financial backing to implement their initiatives.
