Black January to be commemorated in Murmansk
Baku, January 18 (AZERTAC). The Murmansk branch of the All-Russian Azerbaijani Congress (WAC) will hold a commemorative event to mark the 23rd anniversary of the 20 January tragedy.
The event will feature a photo and book exhibition on the tragic events of 1990 when Soviet troops stormed Azerbaijan`s capital killing and wounding civilians in what became known as the Black January.
The event will be attended by members of the Azeri diaspora, Murmansk government officials as well as journalists.
Activists of the WAC Murmansk branch have prepared press-releases and articles on the Black January to publish them on the website of Murmank`s government and in several regional media.
They will also adopt an appeal to world parliaments.
