BSANNA`S SECOND MEETING HELD IN BULGARIA
The second meeting of the Black Sea Association of National News Agencies (BSANNA) was held Monday in the Bulgarian city of Pomorie.
The event brought together 14 news agencies from various countries. AZERTAC is one of BSANNA`s member agencies.
Prior to the meeting, AZERTAC Director General Aslan Aslanov met Sunday with Bulgarian News Agency Director General (BTA) Maksim Minchev to discuss BSANNA`s next meeting.
Later the same day, the informal meeting of heads and representatives of news agencies took place in Sofia. During the event, Bulgaria`s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivailo Kalfin highlighted the role of news agencies in the news exchange on the developments in the region. Meeting participants discussed their problems, and prospects for cooperating.
The official opening of the conference took place in the Pomorie, Bulgarian resort city. Speaking at the ceremony were Director General of Ukrinform Viktor Chamara who currently holds BSANNA presidency, and Chairman of the Foreign Policy Commission of the Bulgarian Parliament Solomon Passi.
BSANNA presidency was transfered to the BTA. Croatia`s HINA, Macedonia`s MIA and Georgia`s GHN news agenices were elected as new BSANNA members. The next BSANNA meeting will be held in Moscow.
The conference will be continued on September 9.
