GERMAN BUNDESTAG MEMBERS MEET AZERBAIJANI SPEAKER
Visiting Azerbaijan, members of the German Bundestag from Social-Democratic Party (SPD) parliamentary group Uta Zapf and Steffen Reiche have today met with the Speaker of Azerbaijani Parliament Ogtay Asadov.
Asadov dwelt upon Azerbaijan-Germany friendship relations, noting the current visit of German MPs will boost interparliamentary ties. The Speaker informed German MPs about 15 October presidential elections, saying these elections were held in free, fair and democratic manner.
Touching upon Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the speaker said discussions on this issue to be held by the Bundestag will boost negotiations on the resolution of the conflict.
Chairman of the Azerbaijan-Germany parliamentary Friendship Group in Bundestag Steffen Reiche described Azerbaijan as the most stable and democratic country in the region. He highly praised the presidential elections held on 15 October.
German ambassador to Azerbaijan Per Christopher Stanchina was present at the meeting.
