GERMAN PARLIAMENTARIANS MEET MEMBERS OF AZERBAIJAN-GERMANY PARLIAMENTARY FRIENDSHIP GROUP
Members of the German Bundestag from Social-Democratic Party (SPD) Uta Zapf and Steffen Reiche have today met with members of the Azerbaijan-Germany parliamentary friendship group.
Asim Mollazadeh, member of parliamentary friendship group from Azerbaijan side, said political, economic and cultural relations between the two countries had developed rapidly in recent years.
Mollazadeh stressed that German businessmen are successfully working in various sectors of Azerbaijani economy.
The Azerbaijani MP said Azerbaijan is making great contribution to Europe`s energy security. He described Azerbaijan as a bridge between Europe and Asia.
Speaking about Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the Azeri MP highly praised Germany`s supporting Azerbaijan`s fair stance on this issue.
Chairman of the Azerbaijan-Germany parliamentary friendship group in Bundestag Steffen Reiche highlighted dynamic development of relations between the two countries. He talked about the events to mark the Year of Azerbaijan Culture in Germany.
Steffen Reiche invited Azerbaijani parliamentary delegation to his country to raise awareness of Bundestag members about recent developments in the South Caucasus.
German ambassador to Azerbaijan Per Christopher Stanchina was present at the meeting.
