Ismayilly schoolchildren visit Japan
Tokyo, August 2 (AZERTAC). A cohort of pupils from Ismayilly, sister city of Japan`s Ito, have visited this city for the first time as part of the freidnship exchange agreement signed between Azerbaijan`s region of Ismayilly and Japan`s Shizuoka prefecture.
Six pupils of two secondary schools are accompanied by chief of the region`s education department Rasim Orujov.
During the first two days, Azerbaijani students saw the sights of Tokyo and visited Azerbaijan’s embassy to Japan.
The students have been in correspondence for a couple of years with the pupils in Ito. The Ismayilly pupils will travel to Ito to meet the Japanese students in Ito who are scheduled to visit Ismayilly next year.
Representative of Ito`s International Homestay Club Kazuko Ishida told AZERTAC`s correspondent that a rich program is awaiting the Azerbaijani students. During the visit, Ismayilly kids will live with host families as part of Homestay program to learn the Japanese lifestyle, national culture. They are scheduled to meet with Ito mayor.
Ishida noted that in accordance with the programme, they will be informed about the national musical instruments. Boys will be studying at the schools teaching martial arts.
Azerbaijani schoolchildren will return home on August 13.
