Krakow hosts conference on energy security of Poland and Azerbaijan
Baku, April 17 (AZERTAC). An international conference on energy security of Poland and Azerbaijan has been held in Krakow, Poland.
The event was co-organized by Azerbaijan`s Embassy in Poland and Krakow-based Center for Strategic Studies.
Azerbaijan`s delegation led by industry and energy minister Natig Aliyev participated in the conference.
The event brought together Polish officials, representatives of leading energy companies, research centers and journalists.
Minister Natig Aliyev, Polish Deputy Prime Minister and minister of economy Janusz Piechociński addressed the event.
Natig Aliyev briefed the conference participants on the current situation in Azerbaijan, dynamic development of economy and ongoing successful reforms. The minister particularly spoke of the oil strategy founded by national leader Heydar Aliyev which he added was continued successfully by President Ilham Aliyev.
The minister also noted the Azerbaijani leadership attaches great importance to cooperation with Poland. He said official Baku was ready to contribute to energy security of Poland.
Janusz Piechociński said ensuring energy security was a priority for his country. “That is why official Warsaw puts special emphasis on diversification of energy resources and development of relationship with Azerbaijan.”
As part of the visit the Azerbaijani delegation also held meetings with Polish officials and representatives of private companies.
Azerbaijani ambassador to Poland Hasan Hasanov participated in the conference and meetings as well.
