MARCH EVENTS BADLY DAMAGED ARMENIA`S POSITION IN EUROPE, JEAN-LOUIS LAURENS
Jean-Louis Laurens, Director General of Democracy and Political Affairs of the Council of Europe said the events happened in March in Armenia had badly damaged the country`s position in Europe.
He recalled that the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) had adopted a resolution putting forward relevant demands before Armenian delegation to PACE, adding the Assembly will discuss the issue again early next year.
According to him, though eight months have elapsed since the events in which 10 people were killed, nobody has been punished yet.
Mr. Laurens underscored there were serious problems in freedom of speech in Armenia, as well.
