RF’s minister of culture visits Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan
Baku, April 12 (AZERTAC). A meeting was held at the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan with the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Vladimir Medinskiy, who is on a visit to Baku to participate in the First World Forum of MGIMO.
Azerbaijan’s Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfaz Garayev warmly welcomed the guest, informed him about the cultural life of the country. In particular, they noted that in recent years the country hosts many international cultural events.
We have close direct contacts with the Russian cultural institutions - the minister said. “Practice shows the great fruitfulness of such contacts. So, for the last time the Azerbaijan State Russian Drama Theatre’s performances have become a tradition in Moscow theaters. And on May 9-10, there will be tours of the Maly Theater.
The Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Vladimir Medinskiy noted that he is in Baku at the invitation of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to take part in the First World Forum of MGIMO.
The Minister thanked President Ilham Aliyev for the organization of this meeting. “Many MGIMO graduates are working in foreign ministries of different countries”, A. Medinskiy stressed. Their direct contacts will undoubtedly contribute to the establishment of closer ties between the two countries, will help understanding”.
As for the cultural ties between Russia and Azerbaijan, they are at the highest level and successfully develop, the minister of culture underlined.
