Turkish media spotlights WUF13 in Baku as hub for future cities
Ankara, May 18, AZERTAC
Turkish media outlets, including news agencies, television networks, newspapers, and online platforms, are widely covering the launch of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku.
The brotherly nation’s media highlighted the importance of the discussions organized by the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), attended by more than 42,000 participants from 182 countries.
“WUF13 has brought the world together in Azerbaijan. The future of cities is taking shape in Baku,” Turkish media reported.
The coverage highlighted remarks by Anar Guliyev, Chairman of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture and WUF13 National Coordinator, who emphasized that Azerbaijan is ready to contribute to the forum’s goals, while also showcasing the country’s “smart” city and village projects in liberated territories.
The reports also noted that WUF13 will also provide an opportunity to showcase Azerbaijan’s organizational capabilities to the world. They also recalled that Baku successfully hosted another major UN global event — the COP29 climate summit — two years ago.
