Baku, October 19 (AZERTAC). A delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic Speaking Countries (TURKPA) will attend a session of Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Quebec, Canada, next week.
According to TURKPA, the delegation headed by Ahliman Amiraslanov, chairman of the TURKPA Commission on International Relations and member of the Azerbaijani parliamentary delegation to IPU, will take part in the organization`s 127th session.

The IPU is the international organization of Parliaments. It was established in 1889. It was the first permanent forum for political multilateral negotiations. Initially, the organization was for individual parliamentarians, but has since transformed into an international organization of the parliaments of sovereign states. The national parliaments of 162 countries are members of the IPU, and 10 regional parliamentary assemblies are associate members. The IPU has permanent observer status at the United Nations.
