Baku, May 17, AZERTAC
“The World City Forum is a unique platform that brings together all stakeholders to discuss practical experiences, best practices, and challenges in developing resilient cities,” said Krzysztof Szczerski, Permanent Representative of Poland to the United Nations, in his remarks at the Ministerial Meeting on the New Urban Agenda held as part of the WUF13.
He emphasized that all cities should evolve into places that promote social cohesion, economic opportunity, and resilience to emergencies.
“The implementation of the New City Agenda depends not only on global commitments, but also on local measures. The fundamental principle of the World Urban Forum is partnership, shared commitment, multilateral governance, and the inclusion of civil society participation. For this reason, the discussions in Baku will play a significant role in shaping the global agenda,” he added.
