Presidential elections in Azerbaijan can serve as an example for the entire region, said Turkish President Abdullah Gul following a meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev in Ankara on November 5.

The Turkish leader hailed Azerbaijan`s poll, saying it was organized excellently.

Abdullah Gul praised the fact that Turkey was the first country President Ilham Aliyev made an official visit to after his re-election.

President Gul said no other countries have a higher level of bilateral relations than those between Turkey and Azerbaijan.

He said the two countries had always had common views.

The Turkish leader also noted his Azerbaijani counterpart’s visit coincides with a very important stage in the life of Caucasus.
