AZERBAIJAN FM MEETS ROMANIAN COUNTERPART
Azerbaijan`s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met Friday with visiting Romanian counterpart Lazar Comanescu.
The Ministers expressed satisfaction with the high level of bilateral relationship and the two countries` common stance on a majority of international issues.
The sides also praised the level of political, economic and regional cooperation between Azerbaijan and Romania.
They stressed the necessity of boosting partnership between the Black Sea and Caspian regions.
Comanescu said his country considers Azerbaijan as an important partner and stable energy supplier.
Touching on the Baku Energy summit, the Romanian Minister said it was very well organized, and praised its results.
He emphasized the necessity of expanding bilateral cooperation and contacts between the two countries` business circles.
He also stressed the need to take measures to simplify visa regime between Romania and Azerbaijan.
The Romanian Minister underlined his country supports the settlement of all frozen conflicts, including the Nagorno-Karabakh on the basis of the principle of territorial integrity.
Elmar Mammadyarov, in turn, highly valued Romania`s position. He stressed it is important that the European Union avoid applying double standards towards the conflicts existing in the region, and expressed hope for relevant efforts by Romania.
