AZERBAIJAN TO RENT TWO GLOBAL ORBITAL POSITIONS
Baku, January 20 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan will soon rent two global orbital positions as part of AzerSat project to launch the country`s own satellite.
The country plans to put two satellites into orbit in 2010 and 2011, covering Eastern Europe, Northern Africa, CIS, and Central and Eastern Asia, according to the ministry of communication and information technologies.
Last November, President Ilham Aliyev signed an Executive Order on creating Space Industry in the country and launching telecommunication satellites into orbit.
