NATO discusses assessment document of Azerbaijan`s 2012 Individual Partnership Action Plan
Baku, October 9 (AZERTAC). The discussion of the assessment document of Azerbaijan`s 2012 Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP) has been held at the NATO Headquarters, Azerbaijan`s mission to NATO said.
In the “28+1” discussions, Azerbaijani was represented by officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Defense Ministry and State Border Service.
During the discussions, NATO member-countries underlined that Azerbaijan is a loyal and reliable partner, and praised the country`s active cooperation and contribution to many-sided issues in the current agenda of NATO, including security challenges, and the operation of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan.
The reform of security sector in Azerbaijan, mutual operative coordination of the forces with NATO, as well as security issues in the region, including the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict were discussed at the meeting.
Such consultations between NATO and Azerbaijan are held once a year. At present, Azerbaijan is implementing the 3rd stage of IPAP covering 2012-2013.
