Press conference of ambassador of Kazakhstan held in Baku
Baku, August 29 (AZERTAC). Press conference of the ambassador of Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan Serik Primbetov was organized on Wednesday at TREND news agency.
The press conference marks the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. Addressing the conference, Primbetov stressed that both Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan overcame difficult stages of the transition period and severe crisis, which has affected both countries after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
“Today, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are leaders of CIS in the socio-economic, energy, financial, and foreign policy. A high level of personal relations of the two states, common positions on many issues of international and regional issues, close trade and economic, social, cultural and educational ties show a positive and progressive development and strengthening of bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan,” the diplomat said.
The ambassador emphasized that over these years the countries established an extensive legal framework covering all areas of bilateral cooperation. The intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation, parliamentary friendship groups cooperate successfully. According to the Kazakh ambassador, Kazakhstan is interested in expanding trade, economic and investment cooperation with Azerbaijan and increasing trade between our countries.
“In multilateral format our countries cooperate in the framework of international and regional organizations, such as the UN, the OSCE, OIC, CIS, TURKSOY and others. The coordinated position of the two countries demonstrates the common views of the leadership of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan on the situation, especially in Nagorno-Karabakh, and in Afghanistan, Iraq and other international and regional issues,” according to Primbetov.
The ambassador said that by joint efforts of the two countries, there was established the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States. The second meeting of the Council was held on August 23 in Bishkek.
The press conference also featured an awarding ceremony. AZERTAC correspondent Lachin Sultanova has been awarded a congratulation diploma for active involvement in cooperation with the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Baku.
The Ambassador informed the journalists about the priorities of domestic and foreign policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the high level of relations between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. Primbetov also briefed the press on the important events due to be held with the participation of both countries’ delegates.
