TURKISH AMBASSADOR IN AZERBAIJAN GIVES PRESS CONFERENCE
Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Hulusi Kilic held Tuesday a press conference to comment on the results of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev`s recent trip to Turkey.
According to Kilic, Turkey views the trip as a success.
The Turkish envoy said the two states had always had very good relations and cooperation.
“Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev`s recent Turkish visit and Turkish President Abdullah Gul`s forthcoming Azerbaijan trip are a vivid evidence of this…” said Kilic.
He described the Azerbaijani leader`s speech at the Turkish Grand National Assembly as “historic.”
“Usually, the Grand National Assembly holds its sessions in the second half of the day. President Ilham Aliyev`s speech was fixed for 11 a.m. However, all members of the Assembly, including representatives of opposition parties gathered at the hall long before the session`s start. This shows how much importance we in Turkey place on President Ilham Aliyev`s trip.” Kilic said.
The Turkish envoy also touched upon economic and trade relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey, saying they are rapidly developing.
On bilateral energy cooperation, Kilic pointed out the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil, Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas and Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway projects. “These huge projects are open for all regional countries to provide peace and stability.” he added.
