Azerbaijan attends Colombo International theatre Festival in Sri Lanka
Baku, April 6 (AZERTAC). The troupe of the Azerbaijan State Youth Theatre participated in the international Colombo theatre Festival in Sri Lanka.
They performed new staging on German Patrick Zyuskind's play “Kontrabas” at the Festival.
Producer-director and the author of musical formulation is People Artist of Azerbaijan Irina Perlova. Honoured Artist Shovgi Huseynov performs the major part.
The festivals conviction is that theatre is an effective medium to perpetrate the message of peace and harmony, negating the detrimental effects of war and terrorism in the region. One of the most effective modes of expression of unity and solidarity; presenting and positioning Sri Lanka as an ideal destination for returning expatriates; a dream-island full of beautiful places and a cornucopia of unique sights and sounds for first-time visitors.
Senses and Soul, The Colombo Festival 2012 was an expression of the sublime through emotive lyrics, inspired melodies, irresistible rhythms, together blending into a conglomerate of sound beyond comparison! All the abundant richness of South Asia served up on a vast stage of musical diversity and invigorating pleasure.
Earlier “Kontrabas” was performed in the international festivals in Iran, Turkey, Moldova, Russia and Ukraine.
