AZERBAIJAN OMBUDSWOMAN ADDRESSED CONFEERNCE IN CAIRO
Conference on “The role of human rights and non-governmental organizations in transformation of society” was organized by UNESCO and Egyptian Human Rights Council in Cairo on December 1-2.
Ombudswoman of Azerbaijan Elmira Suleymanova and senior representative of the Ombudsman Office of Azerbaijan Ravan Samadov invited to the conference by UN Former Secretary General Butros Butros Ghali, have become the only CIS representatives to take part in the event. The conference featured Elmira Suleymanova`s report on “Women`s contribution to peace, tolerance and sustainable development”.
Egyptian First Lady Suzanne Mubarak, UN Former Secretary General Butros Butros Ghali, Chairman of UNESCO`s Executive Board Olabiyi Babalola Joseph Yai, Secretary General of the Arab League Amir Musa, President of African Parliament Gertrude Mongella and others attended the conference.
