Azerbaijani first lady inaugurates FIFA-standard stadium in Baku
Baku, September 13 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan`s first lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, MP Mehriban Aliyeva has today opened a FIFA-standard stadium in Bina district of Baku.
The stadium was built at the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation by the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA).
Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva cut a ribbon symbolizing the opening of the facility.
The first lady was informed the 600-seat stadium with artificial grass has a screen, referee rooms and a medical facility.
The President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation was told that participants of the 2012 FIFA U-17 women`s world cup would have trainings here.
Mrs. Aliyeva also met members of the Azerbaijan women`s Under-17 football team and chatted with them.
The first lady was presented with a football shirt of the national team.
The President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation signed the national team`s ball.
Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva and female football players posed for photographs.
The first lady viewed the cup of the 2012 FIFA U-17 world championship.
Azerbaijan`s first lady wished the Azerbaijani female footballers successes in the championship.
