AZERI SPEAKER MEETS TURKISH FOREIGN MINISTER
Speaker of Azerbaijan Milli Majlis met Monday with visiting Turkish Foreign Minister Ali Babacan.
Ogtay Asadov said relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan had reached the level of strategic partnership.
According to him, documents signed between the two countries had created strong legal ground for wide-ranging bilateral cooperation.
“We welcome Turkey`s efforts to establish peace and security in the Caucasus,” he stressed.
“Turkey had always stood with Azerbaijan during the country`s hard times. We highly value fraternal country`s efforts to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and we believe this policy will yield its results,” said Asadov.
Ali Babacan, in turn, expressed satisfaction with his first trip to Baku, and thanked for the hospitality shown to him.
Mr. Babacan also praised the fact that President Ilham Aliyev made his first official visit to Turkey after he was re-elected as head of state. He added such visits strengthen bilateral cooperation even more.
The sides also discussed other issues of mutual interests.
