Baku hosts Azerbaijan-Romania business forum
Baku, March 15 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijani and Romanian business people have come together in Baku for a joint business forum as part of a visit by President of the Chamber of Deputies Valeriu Zgonea.
Organized by Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO), the event brought together 30 businessmen from Romania and over 100 from Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijani Minister of Economic Development Shahin Mustafayev expressed hope the business forum would foster development of relations and cooperation between Romania and Azerbaijan, and contribute to increasing their bilateral trade.
The minister said trade between the two countries grew 23% in 2012.
Mustafayev stressed Azerbaijan and Romania had signed more than 50 documents on cooperation in a variety of areas.
“The Romania-Azerbaijan intergovernmental commission’s 5th meeting will be held in Bucharest shortly focusing on a number of important issues.”
Zgonea hailed the two countries` relations as successful, expressing confidence the bilateral cooperation would further expand.
He underlined the role of private sector in enhancement of economic cooperation.
Romanian Minister Delegate for Infrastructure Projects of National Interest and Foreign Investments Dan-Coman Sova noted Romania was interested in enhancement of cooperation with Azerbaijan.
The minister also spoke of Nabucco project, expressing Romania`s interest in its implementation. Sova added Romania needed foreign investments and at the same time the country was interested in making investment abroad.
