Baku hosts seminar on emergency management during large-scale events
Baku, April 8 (AZERTAC). A seminar on emergency management during large-scale events has started in Baku.
Delivering a keynote speech, Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations Faig Taghizade said that the number of natural disasters such as earthquakes and volcanoes is increasing in recent years: “Thus, this seminar is of particular importance.”
Taghizadeh said that Azerbaijani Ministry of Emergency Situations is interested in the study of best experience, including experience of France to manage emergency situations and minimize its consequences.
Following this, French Ambassador to Azerbaijan Pascal Monye said that Azerbaijan plays an important role in providing stability in the region: “We want Azerbaijan to develop stability and democracy more.”
The Ambassador said that there remain activities to be done in the field of security: “Friendly relations between Azerbaijan and France can be developed further. Cooperation between companies and experience of French companies may be useful in the field of fight against emergency situations.”
Then, the representatives of French Ministry of Internal Affairs and Emergency Situations, as well as representative of the International Committee of the Red Cross Floren Valle shared their experiences in the field of crowd management and civil defense with participants. Representative of Azerbaijani Minister of Emergency Situations Gudret Aghayev made a report on "The management of emergency situations".
Utilis, "Renault Trucks", EADS, EUROPTER, "Thales" and IVECO companies of France will make presentations in the seminar.
