CHAIRMAN OF CENTRAL ELECTION COMMISSION HOLDS PRESS CONFERENCE AS ELECTION BEGINS
Chairman of Azerbaijan Central Election Commission (CEC) Mazahir Panahov gave a press conference early on Wednesday morning as polling stations opened across the country for presidential election.
Panahov said 5,359 polling stations in 125 constituencies are fully ready for the poll in which 4.8 million people are expected to participate.
According to the CEC chief, all conditions were created in polling stations for local and international observers to monitor the voting process.
The election started with the performance of Azerbaijan`s national anthem.
