Baku, March 15 (AZERTAC). Jewelry boutique De Beers Diamond Jewellers has today opened an official store in Baku.
The store will be managed by the PNN Group of Companies.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, De Beers CEO Francois Delage stated that opening a store in Baku was an important step to promote their brand in the region.
"We hope for the success of joint business with our local partner - group of companies PNN. With a background of jewelry trade, they would be a perfect partner for De Beers,” Delage added.
In turn, Nasib Piriyev, CEO of PNN Group, emphasized that the Company was proud of opening a new market for De Beers diamonds.

De Beers is a family of companies that controversially dominate the diamond, diamond mining, diamond hops, diamond trading and industrial diamond manufacturing sectors. De Beers is active in every category of industrial diamond mining: open-pit, underground, large-scale alluvial, coastal and deep sea.
Mining takes place in Botswana, Namibia, South Africa and Canada.
In 2001, De Beers entered into a retail joint venture with French luxury goods company Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy (LVMH) to establish an independently managed De Beers diamond jewellery company. The joint venture, called De Beers Diamond Jewellers Ltd, sells diamond jewellery. The first De Beers boutique opened in 2002 on London's Old Bond Street as the brand's flagship store, and since then has opened stores all around the world.
