European Azerbaijan Business Forum held in Paris
Baku, March 15 (AZERTAC). The Europe-Azerbaijan Business Forum, entitled “Azerbaijan - the driving force of the Caucasus: the potential and accessibility for investment”, was held in Paris.
The forum was organized by the European Azerbaijan Society (TEAS), and supported by Azerbaijani Embassy in France and France-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce. The sponsor of the Forum was Azerbaijan’s “Akkord” Indistry Constrcution Investment Corporation.
The key goal of the Forum held at the National Industrial organizations of France, is to present business environment and areas of Azerbaijan, suitable for investment. Also provided to investors holding discussions between the two countries in relation to other key sectors such as energy technology, water and sanitation, agriculture, telecommunications, and aerospace industries, important infrastructure projects. The question related to investment in the non-oil sector has also become one of the major topics discussed.
The Forum attended by representatives of government of France and Azerbaijan, French and Azerbaijani entrepreneurs.
The first French ambassador to Azerbaijan, Chairman of the France-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce Jean Perrin, deputy director for the Caucasus and Central Asian Affairs Francois Delaus, French ambassador to Azerbaijan Pascal Monnier and Azerbaijani Ambassador to France Elchin Amirbeyov made opening remarks at the ceremony.
Speakers noted the high level of economic relations between France and Azerbaijan, stressing the importance of making more active steps in this direction.
Then, the forum participants in several working groups presented projects on selected topics, held an exchange of views. The seminars have been associated with the idea of the economic potential and favorable business environment in Azerbaijan, the presentation of ongoing projects, the definition of sectors aimed at promoting economic development of the country, the main message addressed to the public and private sectors.
