European Parliament’s Liberal Group adopts resolutions on Ramil Safarov’s defense
Baku, September 14 (AZERTAC). An urgent resolution concerning Ramil Safarov was submitted for discussion at the plenary session of the European Parliament yesterday.
European Parliament’s Liberal Group also held a meeting within the session.
Head of the Azerbaijani delegation in the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly, member of parliament Elkhan Suleymanov told that Rumanian politician Norika Nikolay from Liberal Group proposed not to sign the draft-law concerning Ramil Safarov. The proposal was approved and the Liberal Group made a decision not to defend the resolution on Ramil Safarov’s issue.
“Liberals consider that this resolution is non-objective and doesn’t have a legal base. So, this resolution doesn’t meet the requirements of 122 paragraph of European Parliament Procedure rules called Urgent Resolutions and can’t be adopted by the sides as a case influencing on war launching. The majority of liberals voted for the refusal of the resolution,” Elkhan Suleymanov added.
The fact on the issue, that the majority of liberals refused the resolution, means that the document won’t be proposed by the joint efforts of all the political parties.
