FOREIGN ARCHEOLOGISTS INVESTIGATE IN AZERBAIJANI TERRITORY

French, German, USA and Japanese archeologists are exploring the territory of Azerbaijan. As a result of the latest research works, the monuments reflecting the oldest civilization of Azerbaijan were found, ANAS Institute of Archeology and Ethnography said.

Currently, the archeological excavations are carried out at the ancient settlement of Mentishtepe of Tovuz Province. Excavations in Goytepe settlement of Tovuz region will be carried out in 2009.

During the last archeological excavation in Nakhchivan province together with the US scientists the scientists discovered ancient settlements related to the Bronze Age.
