HULUSI KILIC: TURKEY WILL ALWAYS SUPPORT AZERBAIJAN
“Turkey will always support Azerbaijan” Turkish ambassador said Thursday at a press conference in Baku.
The ambassador described the year 2008 as very important for development of Azerbaijan-Turkey relations.
Hulusi Kilic noted presidents and premiers of the two countries have held 10 meetings during the current year.
He also touched upon bilateral economic ties, saying the trade turnover of 2008 saw $2.5 billion increase in comparison with last year`s $1.5 billion.
Kilic noted Turkey and Azerbaijan are successfully cooperating in transnational oil-gas projects, adding the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railroad will start to operate in 2010.
The Turkish diplomat underlined Turkey backs the soonest solution of Nagorno-Karabakh dispute.
On the “apologizing to Armenians” campaign, Hulusi Kilic stressed Turkish people did not commit any crime to to apologize. He added those who joined the campaign are going the wrong way.
