Latvian President speaks about ethnic conflicts at UNGA 67th session
Riga, September 27 (AZERTAC). President of Latvia Andris Bērziņš, addressing the 67th session of the UN General Assembly urged the participants to promote the settlement of ethnic conflicts. He said, Eastern Europe must be represented in the Security Council.
In his speech, Andris Bērziņš emphasized that there are long-standing conflicts in Europe. "We remain concerned about the growing number of incidents in Nagorno-Karabakh. The sides need to focus on measures to promote trust and avoid large-scale military exercises in this unstable region,” Latvian President said.
