PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV ATTENDS NOC FIFTH PORTBACK ELECTION MEETING
President of Azerbaijan, President of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) Ilham Aliyev attended and addressed the fifth NOC portback election meeting on December 26.
NOC Vice-Presidents Azad Rahimov and Chingiz Huseynzade reported on the NOC activity in 2004-2008. A report of the inspection commission was heard at the meeting. Following the discussions, meeting participants assessed NOC`s four year activity as satisfactory.
Afterwards, President Ilham Aliyev was re-elected unanimously as the NOC President.
In accordance with the NOC statute, 17 members of the NOC Executive Committee and 5 members of the Inspection Commission were elected.
Then, athletes and coaches were awarded.
At the special meeting of the NOC Executive Committee Azad Rahimov, Chingiz Huseynzadeh and Khazar Isayev were elected as NOC vice-presidents and Agacan Abiyev as Secretary General.
