PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV COMMEMORATES NATIONAL LEADER OF AZERBAIJAN HEYDAR ALIYEV
On December 12, the day marking the 5th anniversary of demise of the great son of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev visited the Alley of Honors in Baku to commemorate the national leader and lay a wreath at his tomb.
The President also laid flowers at the tombs of renowned ophthalmologist Zarifa Aliyeva, statesman Aziz Aliyev and Professor Tamerlan Aliyev.
Head of the Caucasus Muslims Office Allahshukur Pashazade said prayers for the national leader of Azerbaijan.
Present at the commemoration ceremony were Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Artur Rasizade, Speaker of the Milli Majlis Ogtay Asadov, Head of the President`s Administration Ramiz Mehdiyev and other officials.
Thousands of residents of Baku and other regions of the country as well as foreign guests have visited the Alley of Honors on 12 December to honor the memory of the national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev and lay wreathes and flowers at his tomb.
