PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV INAUGURATES ICHARISHAHAR METRO STATION
On December 29, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended an inauguration ceremony of Icharishahar metro station.
The station, formerly called the Baki Soveti, is one of the oldest ones in the capital`s metro, which has been operating since 1967. Some AZN 15 million was spent on the reconstruction of the station.
Chief of Baku Metro Tagi Ahmadov informed President Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva on the reconstruction work done.
The Head of State cut the ribbon symbolizing the re-opening of the station.
The station has three escalators. President Ilham Aliyev viewed the station`s platforms.
The construction work in the station was carried out by the “İsahouri” company.
President Ilham Aliyev praised the reconstruction work and gave certain instructions and assignments.
