RELATIONS BETWEEN AZERTAC AND ANADOLU AGENCY TO DEVELOP EVEN MORE
Director General of Azerbaijan State Telegraph Agency (AZERTAC) Aslan Aslanov visited Ankara, Turkey on November 26.
The purpose of the visit is to improve the website of the Association of Turkish Speaking News Agencies (TKA), to expand cooperation between AZERTAC and Anadolu Agency.
On the first day of his visit, Aslan Aslanov visited Mustafa Kemal Ataturk`s Mausoleum - Anitkabir, laid a wreath at his tomb on behalf of AZERTAC, observed a minute of silence and signed Anitkabir Special Register.
As part of the visit, Aslan Aslanov met with Anadolu Agency`s Director General and Executive Board President Hilmi Bengi. The sides stressed significant measures had been taken to enhance relationship between news agencies of Azerbaijan and Turkey.
The talks mainly focused on improvement of TKA`s website. Aslan Aslanov said the Association` s website would create opportunities to disseminate news on political, social, economic and cultural life of Turkish-speaking countries.
Hilmi Bengi said member news agencies would have opportunities to put news stories about their own countries on the website. He added the website would have English and Russian versions.
Bengi expressed confidence that TKA`s current chair AZERTAC would contribute to improving the organization`s website.
He recalled high-level events including TKA General Assembly, the 30th OANA Executive Board Meeting hosted by AZERTAC.
He also expressed confidence cooperation between Anadolu Agency and AZERTAC would further continue to develop.
Following the meeting, Aslan Aslanov viewed the Anadolu Agency`s office building.
Later the same day, AZERTAC Director General was received by Turkish State Minister Mehmet Aydin.
Aslanov briefed the Minister on AZERTAC and its cooperation with Anadolu Agency.
They stressed great contribution of national leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev to developing relationship between Azerbaijan and Turkey.
Aslan Aslanov also met with Turkey`s Director General of Press and Information Salih Melek to exchange views on the current media situation in Azerbaijan and Turkey.
On November 27, directors general of AZERTAC and Anadolu Agency visited Kayseri where Hilmi Bengi familiarized Aslan Aslanov with the Turkish agency`s office here.
