SINGER TO REPRESENT AZERBAIJAN IN EUROVISION SONG CONTEST 2009 ANNOUNCED
Baku, 17 January (AZERTAC). Aysel Teymurzade, 19-year old singer will represent Azerbaijan in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 to be held in Russia. She was selected among 40 nominees by the jury which include Director General of ITV Ismayil Omarov, Rector of Baku Music Academy Farhad Badalbeyli, Executive Director of the Friends of Azerbaijani Culture Foundation Ibrahim Guliyev, President of the Azerbaijan National Music Committee of the International Music Council Lala Kazimova, Director of Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Society Murad Adigozalzade, Chief of Department of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism Manzar Nuraliyeva and official of the Ministry of Youth and Sport Farhad Hajiyev.
The first semi-final of the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest will be held on May 12 and the second on May 24. The final of the contest will take place on May 16.
The contest will bring together 43 countries.
