Turkmenistan to increase LPG export
Baku, 27 March (AZERTAC). In 2013, Turkmenistan plans to increase the export of liquefied natural gas (LPG), Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources said. As reported, functioning in Naip and Bagaja (in the east), a powerful gas processing complex works hard, increasing is the daily production and the pace of work. Last year the complex produced 144,000 tons of liquefied natural gas and a large amount of gas condensate.
The State Service of Maritime and River Transport of Turkmenistan is exploring the possibility of transporting liquefied gas in special containers to Azerbaijan (Baku Port), from there to the Georgian ports of Batumi or Poti via the railway. Further, from the ports of Georgia the containers could be delivered by ship to Romania. Currently appropriate negotiations with Bucharest are underway.
Turkmenistan also showed high level interest to the well-known gas pipeline project AGRI (Azerbaijan-Georgia-Romania Interconnector), also envisioning gas supply in liquid form (Caspian gas) through the Black Sea coast of Georgia to Romania.
