AZERBAIJAN NATIONAL LIBRARY AFTER M. F. AKHUNDOV TO CELEBRATE 85th ANNIVERSARY
Azerbaijan National Library after Mirza Fatali Akhundov will be celebrating its 85th anniversary on November 17-18. The celebratory events will bring together 28 guests from 17 countries, and feature a special ceremony and eight exhibitions. The participants will be received by Director of the National Library and the Azerbaijani Minister of Culture and Tourism. They are also scheduled to pay respect to great leader Heydar Aliyev at the Alley of Honors and visit the gravesite of shahids at the Alley of Martyrs.
Along with celebratory events, the National Library will also host the 10th General meeting of the Eurasian Libraries Assembly. The meeting will see participation of directors of national libraries of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Russia, Tajikistan and Belarus.
The 2nd conference of directors of national libraries of Turkic-speaking countries will also be held on the sidelines of the National Library`s anniversary celebrations. The conference will bring together heads of national libraries of Azerbaijan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Northern Cyprus. Director General of TURKSOY Dusen Kuseinov will also be among the participants in the event.
