AZERI FM: US CONGRESS` RESOLUTION ON SO-CALLED ARMENIAN GENOCIDE HAS NEGATIVE IMPACT ON NAGORNO-KARABAKH TALKS
Baku, March 11 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan`s foreign minister has reiterated his condemnation of a resolution of the US Congress` Foreign Affairs Committee on the so-called Armenian genocide, saying it has “a negative impact” on the talks aimed at finding a peaceful solution to the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
“If US congressmen discuss events which happened 200 years ago, then they should first give an assessment to the Khojaly genocide which happened 20 years ago,” added Elmar Mammadyarov.
The Azeri FM said he did not believe the US Congress` resolution could “help establish peace and stability neither in the South Caucasus nor between Armenia and Azerbaijan”.
