BUDAPEST HOSTS 3RD INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE
The 3rd International Scientific Conference on “Hungary-Azerbaijan: Dialogue of Cultures-2008” commenced Tuesday in Budapest, Hungary.
Co-organizers of the event are: Azerbaijan’s Embassy in Hungary, Institute of History of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Philosophy and Political-Law Researches, Institute of Archeology and Ethnography, Azerbaijan National History Museum of ANAS, Azerbaijan Ataturk Center, as well as Institute of Ethnography of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Institute for Legal and Political Sciences, Eotvos Lorand University and Azerbaijani State Committee for Work with Azerbaijanis Living Abroad.
The event brings together representatives of the state structures, public organizations, scientific circles, professors, teachers and students of the Hungarian Universities and members of the Azerbaijani Diaspora organizations.
Azerbaijan is represented by ANAS vice president, director of the Azerbaijan National History Museum, academician Naila Velikhanli, as well as director of ANAS History Institute, member of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijan Parliament) Yagub Mahmudov, director of the Archeology and Ethnography Institute, Professor Mais Rahimov and ANAS member Ilyas Babayev.
More than 40 scientists will report during the three-day conference.
Opening the event, Azerbaijani ambassador to Hungary Hasan Hasanov said that conducting of such conferences will contribute to bringing the two peoples closer to each other and developing Azerbaijan-Hungarian Humanitarian Relations.
