MATHEMATICIANS OF TURKIC WORLD TO MEET IN KAZAKHSTAN

The Third Congress of the Turkic World Mathematicians Society (TWMS) will take place this June in Kazakhstan. Founded in 1990, the Society comprises mathematicians from Turkey, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Iran, Turkmenistan, China, Mongolia, Russia, USA and EU countries with an objective to expand cooperation among scientists of the Turkic world and join efforts to improve achievements in the field of mathematics and information technologies.

A number of well-known Azerbaijani mathematicians have become members of the TWMS` committee on international programs, and Academician Fikret Aliyev has been elected Vice -president of the Society.

The 1st and 2nd congresses of the Society were held in 1999 and 2007 in Turkey.
