TURKSOY CELEBRATING ITS ANNIVERSARY IN ANKARA
Ankara, 19 January (AZERTAC). The Joint Administration of Turkic Culture and Arts (TURKSOY) celebrated its 15th anniversary at the Bilkent Concert Hall in Ankara. The event was attended by Azerbaijan Minister for Culture and Tourism Abulfaz Garayev, and Head of the Azerbaijan Union of Writers Anar.
The concert featured Azerbaijani musicians Farkhad Badalbeyli, Azer Zeynalov, Nikolay Pesherov and Sevinj Huseynli along with 21 performers from 21 countries.
Outstanding politicians, scientists and people of culture from Turkic countries including current President of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Mehmet Ali Talat, Professor Ihsan Dogramaji, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Russia Polad Bulbuloglu, People’s writer of Azerbaijan Anar were awarded medals for their contribution to strengthening cultural links between Turkic-speaking nations.
TURKSOY was established on July 12, 1993 by the agreement signed by Culture Ministers of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, and Turkmenistan in Almaty.
