AZERBAIJAN CULTURE AND TOURISM MINISTRY ENHANCING INTERNATIONAL LINKS
Azerbaijan Minister for Culture and Tourism Mr. Abulfas Garayev met Polish Minister for Culture Mr. Bogdan Zdraevski, Egyptian Culture Minister Mr. Hosni Faruk and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Ms. Alina Romanowski. Meeting was held as a follow-up to a Council of Europe Conference of Ministers Responsible for Culture.
Attendees have expressed gratitude for large-scale conference level, which, according to participants, has strong impact upon development of cultural dialogue, which has taken a new meaning in the context of this conference.
In his part, Abulfaz Garayev thanked heads of foreign missions for their contribution to the conference. In particular, the Minister stressed the importance of launching through air service Baku - Cairo, which will make for intensification of ties between Azerbaijan and Egypt. Minister has also invited Conference participants involved in the field of creative industries to join festivals, exhibitions and other events to be held in Baku. ***
On behalf of Azerbaijani Government, Minister for Culture and Tourism Abulfas Garayev has signed a Convention on Preservation of Architectural Heritage in Europe. The ceremony of signing was attended by Secretary General of the Council of Europe Mr. Terry Davis.
ISESCO Secretary General H.E. Dr. Abdulaziz ben Osman Al Tuveijri and Azerbaijani Minister for Culture and Tourism Abulfas Garayev signed treaty on holding the 6th Islamic Countries Conference of Ministers Responsible for Culture. Also Mr. Garayev emphasized that Azerbaijan has already applied to the Council of Europe for 10 European states to convene the sixth conference.
Afterwards, the Agreement on cooperation in the field of culture was signed between Culture ministries of Azerbaijan and Slovakia.
