Berlin hosts grand event on Novruz holiday
Berlin, March 28 (AZERTAC). A festive event dedicated to Novruz was held in the Ethnological Museum in Berlin.
The event was supported by the embassies of countries where Novruz is celebrated - Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
After welcoming the participants, the museum's director Viola Konig noted that Novruz, included in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity - that is 300 million people over a vast geographical area from the Balkans to Central Asia and South Asia. The holiday has ancient roots.
Then, representatives of each of the participating countries made a 30-minute cultural program.
Participants in the event, along with a cultural program had the opportunity to see an exhibition of cultural and historical heritage and the customs and traditions of the Member States.
The event was attended by the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Germany Parviz Shahbazov.
