GARA GARAYEV`S 90TH JUBILEE CEREMONY MARKED IN NEW YORK
By the organizational support of the Azerbaijan`s Ministry of Culture, Azerbaijan`s prominent composer Gara Garayev`s 90th jubilee was marked Saturday at the Carnegie Hall Concert in New York.
The event gathered together representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited to UN, UN`s secretaries, USA political parties, as well as Azerbaijani community.
Azerbaijani Ambassador to the Council of Europe Aqsin Mehdiyev told about Gara Garayev and his invaluable role in Azerbaijani culture.
He also delivered address by the President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, MP, Mehriban Khanum Aliyeva.
Gara Garayev`s compositions were improvised during the event.
