TWO AZERBAIJANI DOCUMENTARIES TO PARTICIPATE IN MUMBAI FILM FESTIVAL
Annual International Film Festival for Documentary, Short and Animation Films will be held in Mumbai, India, early in February, 2009, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism told AZERTAC. Two films - “Prayer” and “The Azerbaijani motives” by Azerbaijani filmmaker Ziya Shikhlinski are expected to participate in the event, Almaz Sultanzade, spokeswoman for the Ministry told AZERTAC.
“The festival has become a tradition and Azerbaijani cinematographers joined last events. This year, the Festival will introduce new themes, including Culture, Traditions, Religion and Art”, Sultanzade specified.
Ziya Shikhlinski is famous Azerbaijani documentary filmmaker, he is an author of a wide range of documentaries, including “Prayer”, “He was reputed as a God of Artillery” (1996), “Nostalgia for Strangers” (1997), “Chopin’s Coming Back”, “The Azerbaijani motives” and others.
