Anar Guliyev: Today’s discussions showed that the New Urban Agenda adopted 10 years ago is irreplaceable

“Housing should not be considered in isolation, but together with land, infrastructure, transport, services, and climate policy,” said Anar Guliyev, National Coordinator for the 13th Session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13) and Chairman of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture.
He stated that panel discussions highlighted three key roles of housing: as a foundation of human rights and social inclusion, an element of economic development, and a key instrument for climate action and sustainability.
“Today’s discussions demonstrated that the New Urban Agenda adopted 10 years ago is not only still relevant, but irreplaceable. The second decade must become a period of large-scale implementation,” he added.
