Vahid Hajiyev: Social factors and socio-economic issues are interconnected, and moreover, they serve as driving force of economic activity
Baku, May 19, AZERTAC
“For 30 years, Azerbaijan’s territories were destroyed, and we had to start from scratch. We believe that social factors and socio-economic issues are interconnected, and moreover, they serve as the driving force of economic activity,” said Vahid Hajiyev, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Jabrayil, Gubadli and Zangilan districts, during the event titled “Housing the World: Safe and Resilient Cities and Communities.” One of its flagship dialogue sessions is titled “The Social and Economic Power of Housing: How Can Housing Drive Prosperity While Delivering Equity for All?” within the framework of WUF13.
“Following the war, providing people with houses became the first visible sign of return. We are building villages, cities, as well as “smart cities” and “smart villages,” Hajiyev noted.
