Azerbaijan’s Central Bank becomes member of UNDP Sustainable Insurance Forum
Baku, September 14, AZERTAC
The Central Bank of Azerbaijan has become a member of the United Nations Development Programme’s Sustainable Insurance Forum (SIF).
As the member of the SIF, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan will have an opportunity to expand cooperation with insurance supervisors and regulators from different countries of the world, participate in international experience and knowledge sharing, as well as be represented in the working groups and discussions of the Forum. Additionally, the Central Bank will be able to contribute to international initiatives related to strengthening the sustainability and resilience to climate risks in the insurance sector, as well as expand the opportunities for applying advanced international practices in the development of the country's insurance sector.
Established by the United Nations with the support of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) in 2016, SIF provides a unique platform for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and coordinated action on the integration of sustainability considerations into insurance supervision.
By bringing together global network of insurance supervisors and regulators, the Forum facilitates joint action to address the critical sustainability challenges facing the insurance sector.
